Rochester Americans News Release

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans make their mark outside The Blue Cross Arena today to appear in six different community events. The first was a luncheon at the Country Club of Rochester as members of the team, coaching staff, front office and sponsors gathered to honor rookie defenseman Jason Garrison as October's Morgan Stanley Player of the Month.

The day continued with a sit-down feature with Time Warner, which consisted of an in depth, behind-the-scenes look at Stefan Meyer, Tanner Glass, Drew Larman and first-year defenseman Michael Caruso. Time Warner gained an inside look of what the players do off the ice and about their lives outside of hockey.

Second-year forward Kenndal McArdle stopped by the Monroe County Children's Center today at 3:30 p.m. to talk about his career as a hockey player and the steps he took to bring him there.

The Amerks' Reading Power Play continues this afternoon with its seventh reading appearance as left wing Jacob Micflikier and The Moose visit the Sully Branch at 4:30 p.m. The visit includes a variety of activities as Micflikier will read "Z is for Zamboni," give a hockey demonstration and sign autographs. Those in attendance will also have an opportunity to win Amerks merchandise.

From there, The Moose will head to the ESL Sports Centre to hang out with teams from Rochester Youth Hockey. The Amerks' furry friend can be found walking around the rink from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. giving out high-fives and signing autographs.

The Amerks will close out their busy day as Caruso and Dan Collins stop by The Original CharBroil House at 6:00 p.m. The duo will have dinner with and sign autographs with those in attendance. Fans will have a chance to take home a game-used stick signed by all members of the 2008-09 team.
