Bloomington PrairieThunder News Release

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Bloomington PrairieThunder hockey organization is once again partnering with Extreme Motors to help with the annual Clare House Food Drive.

Fans attending the International Hockey League game between the PrairieThunder and Muskegon on Saturday at U.S. Cellular Coliseum, beginning at 7:05 p.m., are asked to bring a canned good donation. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Individuals making a donation of:

canned foods (including vegetables, soups and fruits);

dry foods such as cereals and macaroni and cheese;

diapers, baby food or formula;

or personal items that can't be purchased with food stamps such as soap, toilet paper and shampoo will be given a voucher good for one free admission to a future PrairieThunder game. Vouchers will be distributed one per person, not per item donated.

This marks the third consecutive year the PrairieThunder has joined forces with Extreme Motors in the fight against hunger. Clare House is a Catholic Worker house modeled after those started in New York to help the poor during the Depression.

As such, it receives no government assistance and relies totally on donations from the public to survive.
