Manchester, NH- The New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, rolled out their 2009 promotional schedule today, complete with 21 Atlas Fireworks Nights and 34 giveaway items, including five new bobbleheads. The season begins with free fleece blankets for the first 1,000 fans at Merchantsauto.com Stadium on Opening Night -Wednesday, April 8-when the Fisher Cats host the New Britain Rock Cats at 6:35pm on United Way Night.Fans will have the opportunity on select dates to receive popular giveaway items including kids' jerseys, baseball caps, bats, t-shirts, pennants, magnetic schedules, gloves, soccer balls, footballs, team card sets, backpacks, and foam fingers. The Fisher Cats are also introducing exciting new giveaway items, including pink totes for moms on Mother's Day (May 10), an American Flag on Memorial Day (May 25), two Webkinz giveaways (June 5, July 28) and a Christmas ornament (July 20).
"We wanted to create a schedule that included traditional favorites while mixing in exciting new ideas to thank our great fans for allowing us to entertain them," said Fisher Cats President Rick Brenner. "It is important for us to create 71 separate events when welcoming our fans into the ballpark, and we think they'll be as excited as we are about this year's promotional calendar."
A jam-packed slate of themed days includes Timber Appreciation Day (April 26), Ladies Night (April 28), Law Enforcement Night (May 22), Animal Appreciation Night (June 5), Girl Scouts Day (June 7), 50s Night (June 18), Kickoff to Summer Luau (June 29), a Hot Dog Eating Contest (July 4), 80s Night (July 16), Oktoberfest (July 18), Faith & Family Day (July 19), Youth Soccer Day (July 29), Renew Your Wedding Vows Night (August 8), Manchester Monarchs Day (August 9), Halloween Night (August 18) and Fan Appreciation Day (August 30).
Scout Night Sleepovers are scheduled for Friday, June 19, and Friday, August 7, and USA Subs Baseball Bingo will be a feature of all Monday and Wednesday home games and select Saturdays.
The Fisher Cats will once again honor students who excel in and out of the classroom with U.S. Cellular Most Improved Student Nights (April 10, April 14, April 24, April 29, May 13, May 27), Scholar Athlete Nights (April 9, April 15, May 12), Music Awards Nights (April 13, April 28, May 26) and CCSNH Reading Challenge Nights (May 11, June 16).
