Blue Rocks Announce Eighth Annual Holiday Card Contest

Wilmington, DE - The Wilmington Blue Rocks are proud to announce our Eighth Annual Holiday Card Design Contest is underway. The contest is open to all students in kindergarten through fifth grade. The winning entry will be showcased as the cover of the official 2008-2009 Wilmington Blue Rocks holiday card, along with the artist's name, school name and grade level. The back of the holiday card will also feature honorable mention entries.

The Blue Rocks Holiday Card Design Contest panel will select the winning entries on Tuesday, December 2. The winner will have his/her entry posted on the official Blue Rocks website (www.bluerocks.com) and will receive a team-autographed baseball and 10 tickets to a Wilmington Blue Rocks game. Each participant in the contest will also receive two complimentary tickets to a designated Blue Rocks home game in 2009.

Below is the complete set of contest rules:

1. Students in grades K-5 who attend schools in Delaware, New Jersey, Maryland & Pennsylvania are eligible to participate in the contest.

2. Artwork should be submitted in color suitable for reproduction as one of the Blue Rocks official holiday cards. Entries should not be bent or mounted. Original drawings should be on plain, white paper (no lines), no larger than 8.5" x 11".

3. The theme of the artwork should have a holiday or winter concept. The Blue Rocks encourage participants to use the images of our mascots (Rocky Bluewinkle, Mr. Celery and Rubble), the Blue Rocks logo, Frawley Stadium, our parent club's logo (Kansas City Royals) and/or general baseball graphics.

4. Artwork submitted will become the property of the Wilmington Blue Rocks and will not be returned.

5. All entries must be submitted by Wednesday, November 26. The Blue Rocks front office will select the winner on Tuesday, December 2. The winner(s) will be posted on the Blue Rocks website. Each entrant will also receive two free Blue Rocks tickets. These tickets will be sent out in February.

6. The grand prizewinner will receive a team-autographed baseball and 10 tickets to a game.

7. Entries must include name, age, address, city, state, zip, school name and grade.
