Jackalopes determine opening day roster

(Odessa, TX) - The Jackalopes released five players this week to create their opening day, 19-man roster for Friday's season opener against the Arizona Sundogs. Len Dicostanzo, Jeff Genovy, Corey Courchene, Mike MacDonald, and Corey Rutt have been the players released by the organization.

Tonight the Jacks will begin their road trip to Prescott Valley, Arizona to prepare for their season opening contest against the defending champion Sundogs on Friday night. Game time is scheduled for 9:05 PM local time.

The Jackalopes opening day roster consist of:

The Jacks will play their first home game of the season on Halloween against the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees at 7:05 PM. At the game former Jackalopes goaltender, Mike Gorman, is expected to be starting in net for Rio Grande. Tickets are on sale now.

The Odessa Jackalopes are the Central Hockey League affiliate for the NHL's New York Islanders and the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers. The team will begin its 12th season on October 17th against the defending champion Arizona Sundogs.
