Cats named AA Organization of the Year

The Fort Worth Cats have been named the American Association's 2008 Organization of the Year, it was announced Monday at the league owner's meetings in Wichita, KS.
It is the first time the Cats have won the award since joining the American Association in 2006.
The Cats won both halves of the season in the American Association South and tied eventual-champion Sioux Falls for the league's best record at 60-36.
The team averaged just under 4,000 fans per game this season, drawing a franchise-high 185,175 fans in 2008. The Cats also set a team record when 12,457 fans saw the Cats defeat Wichita on July 4.
The award is voted on by the league's 10 managers and one media member from each city in the American Association.
