PORTLAND, September 7, 2008 - Portland LumberJax goalie and Community Relations Director Dallas Eliuk has one goal in mind this week as he prepares for the Dream Team Basketball Camp Celebrity Golf Tournament: stay out of the sand traps. Eliuk will be one of the many celebrities playing Monday, September 8th at the Reserve Vineyards and Golf Course in Aloha at 1 p.m. to benefit Dream Team Camps.
Dream Team Camps offer a variety of basic skills to motivate and inspire young people in playing basketball and life. Teamwork, respect and discipline are just a few of the basic skills taught.
The week continues as mascot Jaxon will participate in the Oregon VisionWalk on Saturday, September 13 at 10 a.m. at Duniway Park. VisionWalk is the national signature fundraising event of the Foundation Fighting Blindness. Since it's inception in the spring of 2006, the program has raised over $4 million to fund sight-saving research.
Later Saturday evening, members of the Jax dance team will be at the new McDonald's in Vancouver, Washington from 5-7 p.m.
