Mississippi Braves News Release

Pearl, MS -- The Mississippi Braves will host the Birmingham Barons in game three of the Southern League South Division Playoffs on Saturday, September 6th at Trustmark. If necessary, the M-Braves will also host the Barons on Sunday, September 7th and Monday, September 8th to finish out the best-of-five series.

The Braves will give out free foam tomahawks to each fan in attendance prior to each playoff game held at Trustmark Park. In addition, the Braves will celebrate the team's second straight playoff appearance with a balloon launch, performances by the Magnolia Chorus and Pearl High School's Marching Band and a flyover by the United States Army's Black Hawk helicopters on Saturday night.

The always entertaining and hilarious Birdzerk will entertain fans between innings and a fireworks celebration will follow the game Saturday night. The Braves will also feature post game entertainment in the form of live music following Saturday and Sunday night's games.

In the wake of Hurricane Gustav and Tropical Storm Fay and in anticipation of Tropical Storm Hanna's and Hurricane Ike's imminent landfalls, the M-Braves will also be a drop-off location for fans wishing to donate to the American Red Cross.

The Braves will be collecting bottled water, bottled or canned drinks, new blankets, new pillows, new towels, new sheets, new wash cloths, new hand towels, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, and deodorant. Interested fans are also encouraged to donate other personal hygiene items and children's toys.
