Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release

Rancho Cucamonga, CA- The California League post-season All-Star team was announced today and two players representing the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes were named to the fourteen man roster. Quakes Starting Pitcher Sean O'Sullivan was named to the team along with Former Quakes First Baseman Mark Trumbo.

O'Sullivan, who recently set the Quakes' Single Season Career Wins mark, is 15-7 with a 4.70 ERA and one complete game on the season. He joins Kevin Pucetas and Tim Alderson, both of the San Jose Giants as the starting pitchers.

Trumbo was a stalwart in the middle of the Quakes lineup until his promotion to Double-A Arkansas on July 28th. In 103 games with the Quakes, the slugging first baseman batted .283 with 26 HR's and 68 RBI. His 26 HR's still rank 2nd in the league and his .553 slugging percentage ranks 4th.

The Lake Elsinore Storm and San Jose Giants each placed three members on the squad. Lancaster joined the Quakes as the only teams with two representatives; while Inland Empire, Modesto, Stockton, and Visalia each had one.

Inland Empire's former Catcher Carlos Santana, who has since been traded to the Cleveland Indians organization, was named the league's Most Valuable Player. San Jose's Kevin Pucetas was selected Pitcher of the Year, Stockton's Chris Carter was picked as Rookie of the Year, and Lancaster's Chad Epperson was tabbed as Manager of the Year for the second straight season.
