The Bloomington PrairieThunder Booster Club is gearing up for another season by announcing its annual Puck Drop date and membership drive.
The Puck Drop dinner will be Saturday, Sept. 27 at noon at the Davis Lodge at Lake Bloomington. The booster club will provide fried chicken and baked beans. Everyone else is asked to bring a dish to share.
The event is for current and prospective new members. It's also an opportunity to sign up for this year's booster club. New and current members can save money on their membership dues at the Puck Drop.
By signing up at the event only, new members can save $5 on dues while current members can bring and sign up a friend at the event to save $5 off their membership renewal. Regular yearly membership dues are $15 for singles and $25 for family.
The PrairieThunder Booster Club is a group of individuals that is dedicated to promoting ice hockey within the community and supporting the PrairieThunder hockey team.
The group holds monthly meetings and dinners with the team; participates in the Adopt-A-House program; becomes involved in other community activities and special events such as walking in the annual Bloomington Labor Day parade on Sept. 1; and enjoys discounts on special outings with PrairieThunder players.
