New York-Penn League Again Turns to Fans for New Logo

At the beginning of April, the New York-Penn League announced their current logo would be retired at the completion of the 2008 season. In an effort to find a new mark, the league announced a contest to help design the new logo. The league received over 80 designs from talented artists as far away as Paris, France, as well as designers from throughout the New York-Penn League community. After narrowing the competition to the top five designs, the contest will now be turned over to you, the fans, to select the league's new logo.
Fans are able to vote for their favorite mark by clicking on the link at www.crosscutters.com. The winning designer will receive a great prize pack consisting of something from all NYPL teams, a lifetime pass to the NYPL and a chance to throw out a ceremonial first pitch at any NYPL facility.

Ming Chen of Eatontown, NJ
Lonnie Walker of Prospect, KY
Michael Power of Slate Hill, NY
Matthew Steinberg of Corfu, NY (two winning designs)
The New York-Penn League which has roots dating back to 1891 "Wants You" to help design their new logo. The current 14-member league has teams in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Vermont, New York, Maryland and Massachusetts. Affiliates range from the New York Yankees, New York Mets and Boston Red Sox to the St. Louis Cardinals. Its ownership even includes movie star Bill Murray of the Hudson Valley Renegades, Hall of Famer Cal Ripken Jr. of the Aberdeen Ironbirds and former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jerome Bettis of the State College Spikes. Its current mark has announced its retirement at the completion of the 2008 campaign.
