Vince Harrison, Rontrez Johnson and Peanut Williams among All-Star selections

Schaumburg, IL - Schaumburg Flyers Rontrez Johnson and Peanut Williams have been selected to represent the Flyers in the starting lineup of the 2008 Northern League All-Star Game. With 20 stolen bases, CF Rontrez Johnson leads the league in steals. Chicagoland batting leader and Flyers 3B Vince Harrison, SS Mark Haske, LHP Brad Mumma and RHP David Byard were also selected to play in the mid-season game between the I-29 All-Stars and the Chicagoland All-Stars to be played at Canwest Park in Winnipeg, MB on July 8th, 2008.

The host I-29 All-Stars (Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks, Kansas City T-Bones, and Winnipeg Goldeyes) will be managed by Winnipeg manager Rick Forney. The Chicagoland All-Stars (Gary SouthShore RailCats, Joliet JackHammers, and Schaumburg Flyers) will be led by Gary SouthShore manager Greg Tagert. The rosters were selected by voting from the league's managers, radio broadcasters, local media, and veteran players.

The Schaumburg Flyers are a member of the Northern League, a 6-team Independent Professional Baseball League established in 1993. The Flyers start their next home stand on Tuesday, July 1st with Women in Business Night and a Flyers Logo Ball giveaway courtesy of American Family Insurance. July 2nd will feature a Flyers Mini Bat giveaway courtesy of Kouklas Pizza and a post-game fireworks display will follow the July 3rd game.
