Camden Riversharks News Release

CAMDEN, NJ - The York Revolution came into Camden to win a series, but a split will have to do. The hometown Riversharks were outplayed Sunday to the tune of 9-4.

In the first inning, York first baseman Matt Dryer blasted a two-run homer off lefty Sean Thompson. Centerfielder Matt Esquivel followed suit in the second with a solo shot to left to make it 3-0.

Starter Aaron Myette held the Sharks hitless into the fifth. With the score 5-0, Ron Davenport and Jason Phillips knocked back-to-back doubles for the Sharks for a run. The team failed to put a rally together, and the inning ended on a strikeout.

The team put together two more runs in the seventh to make it 7-3, but once again, the inning ended on a strikeout.

Down 9-3 in the ninth, catcher Randy McGarvey shot a sac fly to right to make it 9-4, but it was merely cosmetics for the box score.

The team heads to Bridgeport Tuesday for a three game set with the Bluefish, but have no fear. They return home Friday to face the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. This marks the first time the Crabs have come to town, so make sure you buy your tickets as soon as possible at www.riversharks.com or 1-866-SHARKS-9.
