New Britain Rock Cats News Release

New Britain, CT - The New Britain Rock Cats announced this morning that they have made two roster transactions, each involving a Pitcher.

RHP Danny Graves, the 11-year Major League veteran who is attempting a comeback in the Minnesota organization, has been promoted to Triple-A Rochester in the Inter- national League. The 34-year-old bullpen specialist was a two-time National League All-Star (2000 and 2004) and remains the Cincinnati Reds' all-time Saves leader (182). The 6'0"/185 Graves - the only Major League Baseball player to be born in Vietnam - joined New Britain on April 22nd and made a total of 7 relief appearances in a Rock Cats uniform. A positive influence both in the clubhouse and on the field, the University of Miami product compiled a 2-0 W-L record and 3.60 ERA over 10 full innings of work for the 2008 Rock Cats.

LHP Errol Simonitsch, a 25-year-old native of Glendale, CA, will rejoin the Rock Cats for the first time since the 2006 Season. The 6'4"/230-pound Gonzaga University product has been disabled with a shoulder injury that occurred near the conclusion of Minnesota's 2007 Spring Training. The popular southpaw has devoted most of the past year rehabbing in the Twins' Extended Spring Training facility and, in just the last week, made his first competitive appearance in over a year. Pitching for Ft. Myers in the Single-A Florida State League, Simonitsch came out of the Miracle bullpen and picked up a W with a hitless/scoreless outing. Minnesota's 6th round selection in the 2003 Draft, the big lefty won 14 total games for the Rock Cats over portions of the 2005 and 2006 seasons. He will join the team tomorrow night in Binghamton, NY.
