International League Holds 125th Anniversary Fan Photo Contest
Published on April 24, 2008 under International League (IL1) News Release
As part of the ongoing celebration of the circuit's 125th Anniversary season, the International League has announced it will be conducting a special photo contest for fans. Beginning May 1, fans can submit their best photos from around the ballpark to www.ILBaseball.com/PhotoContest and the best entries each month will be rewarded with an exciting prize package.
Every month the International League will select the best photos in a specific category. A grand prize winner and two runners-up will be chosen for each category. The contest begins May 1 with "Baseball Action", as fans will be encouraged to submit their best photos of players in action on the field. In June the category will change to "Fans", followed by "Mascots" in July and finally "Ballpark Promotions" in August.
The winning photo each month will be published in the 2009 International League Record Book. The grand prize winner will also receive a Kodak digital camera and four box seats to see their favorite International League team during the 2009 season. All winners will also be awarded with merchandise and memorabilia honoring the 125th Anniversary of the International League.
The photo contest won't be the only reason fans across the League will want to bring their cameras to the ballpark this summer. There will be numerous opportunities to capture historic and unique events. Special occasions will be happening throughout the League, such as the Cooperstown Classic on May 18, the Triple-A All-Star Game in Louisville on July 16, plus several induction ceremonies for the International League Hall of Fame.
