Mississippi Braves News Release
The Mississippi Braves announce that infielder Van Pope has been placed on the disabled list retroactive to April 12th. Pope left the game on April 11th after straining his left hamstring rounding second base. Infielder Paul Bennett has been promoted to AA Mississippi from High-A Myrtle Beach to fill Pope's roster spot.
Pope was batting .259 and was in the midst of a five-game hitting streak when he got injured. Bennett was hitting .227 through seven games in Myrtle Beach.
The Mississippi Braves now have 24 active players with one player on the disabled list.
