Burlington, VT--- The Vermont Lake Monsters and Washington Nationals are teaming-up to offer one individual a grand slam opportunity to serve as a Baseball Strength and Conditioning Intern for the 2008 Monsters season.
The individual would be asked to report to the Washington Nationals Spring Training Complex located in Melbourne, Florida in April. The Strength and Conditioning Intern would then join the Monsters in mid-June and would conclude their assignment in the beginning of September. A complete job description can be found below:

Reports To: Baseball Strength and Conditioning Coordinator
SUMMARY:
The Washington Nationals Professional Baseball Club is seeking a qualified Strength and Conditioning Coach for the upcoming 2008 minor league season. The Strength and Conditioning Coach will report to spring training in Melbourne, Florida in April.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
Coaches will be required to implement the Washington Nationals strength and conditioning program during spring training and throughout the season. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Leading team stretch.
Assisting in fitness testing in spring training and throughout the season.
Supervising all player lifting and running.
Planning and arranging lifting and conditioning sessions at home and on the road.
Logging all lifting/conditioning daily and bi-monthly/monthly reports.
Additional responsibilities include administering nutrition plans for players.
Assisting athletic trainer in active rehab.
Daily upkeep and maintenance of equipment.
Any other duties assigned by the strength and conditioning coordinator.
Notes: Salary will be $1,000.00 per month. Travel reimbursement is provided to and from spring training and for end of season travel home. Hotel during spring training will be provided.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Must be a US Legal Resident.
B.S. Degree in Exercise Science or related field.
CPR/First Aid (C.S.C.S. preferred but not required).
Experience and knowledge using computers for computer based programs, reports, and communication purposes.
Liability Insurance.
Previous experience in a major college (division 1A or 2A) strength and conditioning program (at least 1 year).
Experience/knowledge in strength and conditioning in baseball and ability to speak Spanish is a big plus.
