Great Lakes Loons News Release

The Los Angeles Dodgers have informed the Great Lakes Loons that manager Lance Parrish, who led the team in its inaugural 2007 season, will not return to the Dodgers' organization next year.

"I've had a wonderful experience here and everyone has been great to me," Parrish said. "I guess it's a part of the game of baseball. I'll move on and hopefully find another opportunity with another club."

Dodgers Director of Player Development De Jon Watson called Loons President and General Manager Paul Barbeau yesterday to relay the news.

"We certainly enjoyed having Lance Parrish as our manager for our first season," Barbeau said. "He was visible in the Mid-Michigan community and helped us usher in a new era of Minor League Baseball to the region. We wish him the best in the next steps of his career."

The Dodgers will announce the Loons' coaching staff for the 2008 season later this winter.
