GRAND CHUTE, WI -- Calvin Beamon scored the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers a 1-0 victory over the Kane County Cougars in the final game of the season for both teams. Tom Ellis pitched a perfect top of the ninth inning and picked up his first pro win.

Wisconsin starting pitcher Fabian Williamson was sharp in his Midwest League debut. The Rattler lefty pitched six scoreless innings and gave up three hits while walking two and striking out three. No Cougar got past second base in the game.

Harold Williams relieved Williamson in the seventh inning and worked two scoreless frames, despite walking three.

Cougar starter James Heuser matched Williamson and Williams zero for zero through the first eight innings. He allowed seven hits, walked one, and struck out seven.

Ellis pitched a 1-2-3 top of the ninth inning to set up the Rattlers with a chance to win the game in the bottom of the ninth.

Reed Eastley, who had two hits in the game, started the game-winning rally with a lead off walk against reliever Derrick Gordon. Beamon pinch ran for Eastley and stole second. The throw to second from catcher Gustavo Rosendo bounced into center to let Beamon reach third base.

Gordon got the first out. Then, Jamie McOwen stepped to the plate. He sent a high chopper back to the mound and Gordon had to make a leaping grab. The throw to Rosendo beat Beamon, but the pinch-runner crashed into Rosendo and knocked the ball free to score the winning run.

The win was the ninth walk-off win for the Rattlers in the 2007 season.

Wisconsin ended the season with a 53-85 record and Kane County ended the year with a 63-76 record.
