Racers reach out to local schools with reading program

Elgin, IL-The Elgin Racers is pleased to announce the creation of 'Reading with the Racers', a literacy program designed to increase area students' interest in reading.

The Racers' first stop will be Kenyon Middle School on Friday, February 9 at 9:00am. Bob Fischer, president and owner of the Racers, will be joined by the Racers' staff and mascot as he reads to a group of 125 students. Sue Welu, Principal of Kenyon Woods, has been instrumental in creating this program.

Elgin Racers Owner Bob Fischer-"As an organization, we are thrilled to get this program started. If we can create enthusiasm for reading and encourage literacy, then we have a very real opportunity to make a lasting impression on these kids' lives."
