Gavin Glinton signs with Major League Soccer

Charleston SC. Charleston Battery forward Gavin Glinton has signed with Major League Soccer. The Charleston Battery loaned Glinton to MLS's Los Angeles Galaxy following the end of the Battery season, the loan contained an option for MLS to purchase Glinton's rights which they have now accepted.

"Gavin had a successful year with the Battery and was fortunate to carry things through with the Galaxy after our season ended. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors; he is a tremendous player and team-mate and will be an asset to his future Club."

Glinton had an impressive first season with the Charleston Battery scoring 13 goals in 29 games played. Glinton kicked off his Battery career by leading Charleston to victory in the 2006 season opener (04/29) with two goals versus the Virginia Beach Mariners; his 13 goals include 4 game-winners.

The Bradley University product was originally drafted by Major League Soccer's LA Galaxy in 2002 before transferring to the Dallas Burn in 2003. His two-year totals include 44 games played with one goal and 4 assists. Glinton missed the 2004 & 2005 seasons through injury.

A native of Brentwood, CA, Glinton, 26, is a member of the Turks & Caicos men's national team.
