Minot Skyrockets News Release

Minot, ND - November 9, 2006 - The Minot Skyrockets are pleased to announce the signing of a 6' 0" point guard from St. Croix of the US Virgin Islands. Kevin Sheppard was born in the islands and plays on the US Virgin Island National Team. He attended college at Jacksonville University, where he is a member of the 1,000 Point Club. Sheppard scored 1,290 points during his 4 years at Jacksonville, averaging 11.4 points per game. During his senior year alone, he scored 471 points, averaging 16.3 points per game.

Sheppard was the starting point-guard on the US Virgin Island National Team. He is a true point-guard, who has the ability to score. Exceptional quickness & strength enables him to easily penetrate the defenses. He is a good 3-point shooter, good defender and an excellent passer. Kevin is a true leader and has the ability to play at any level, including the NBA, as evidenced by his good showing against the Dream Team at the Pre-Olympics.

"Over the years, I have watched Kevin play in international competition, and he can run a club, doing all the little things that help you win games," said Head Coach Chris Daleo.
