
Coach Ferras Moves Up Ladder

[Amarillo, TX] - The Amarillo Gorillas of the Central Hockey League (CHL) announced today that Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Joe Ferras has accepted an Assistant Coaching position with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League (AHL). The Sound Tigers, who are the AAA affiliate of the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League, play their home games at The Arena at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
Gorillas General Manager Darren McLean says of the move, "We are extremely excited for Joe and his family. This is what the hockey business is all about. Joe has had five successful seasons here in Amarillo and we are very proud to say that he was our Head Coach. We wish Joe nothing but success and cannot thank him enough for his contributions to our organization as well as our community!"
The Gorillas will be holding a press conference on Friday, July 21st at 11:00 am. The Gorillas office is located at 1934 Civic Circle in the Wolflin Square Shopping Center. Joe Ferras and Gorillas General Manager Darren McLean will be on hand to answer questions. All fans and media are encouraged to attend.
