GoGirlGo! Atlanta has awarded a grant for "A New Vision for You" program designed to promote health and physical activity in girls. GoGirlGo! Atlanta, a partnership among the Atlanta Women's Foundation, the Women's Sports Foundation, and Kaiser Permanente, has generously provided support for this program. "We are very thankful for this grant and excited about the partnership to build healthier communities," states Akilah Townsend, "We know there is a need and expect full participation in our first year of this wonderful program."

"A New Vision for You" is a summer program primarily targeted for overweight young girls ages 8 to 13 of DeKalb and Gwinnett County. The staff for "A New Vision for You" will include the positive and talented young women of the Atlanta Vision Dance Team. These program instructors are experienced in teaching dance, aerobics, fitness, and educating youth. Participants will meet once a week from 7:30am to 4:30pm for 10 weeks from June through August. Program participation is limited to 30 girls and will require a $20 non-refundable processing fee with a completed application, transportation by parents/guardians, a full commitment and a bag lunch.
