
Tides and ESPN Radio 1310 Announce Extension

NORFOLK, VA -- The Norfolk Tides and Max Media Radio have reached an agreement extending the Tides partnership with WGH-AM 1310. With the agreement, ESPN Radio 1310 will continue to be the flagship station for Norfolk Tides baseball through the 2011 season.
"We are extremely pleased to renew our agreement with ESPN Radio 1310 and Max Media Radio" said Tides president Ken Young. "Our association with ESPN has been an excellent one, and we are glad to be continuing that relationship for the foreseeable future."
"Extending our relationship with the Tides was our number one priority" said Eric "Zero" Mastel, president of Max Media Radio. "We are proud to be their flagship station, and look forward to broadcasting every game through 2011."
WGH-AM 1310 has broadcast every Tides game since the beginning of 2002, and this season will be broadcast live by Bob Socci and John Castleberry.
"I am thrilled to death that we have extended our agreement to carry the Tides" said Tony Mercurio, Program Director for ESPN Radio 1310. "They have been a staple of the Hampton Roads community for so many years, and I'm ecstatic we can continue to make them a part of our program lineup."
The Tides open this season on Thursday, April 6 vs. the Durham Bulls at Harbor Park.
