Jae Seo went 7.2 shutout innings, leading the Tides past the Ottawa Lynx 3-0 Sunday afternoon at Harbor Park.
Seo, who scattered seven hits, improved to 3-0 since being optioned from New York on May 9th. The right-hander walked two and struck out six, helping Norfolk take three of four in their series with the Lynx.
In the month of May, Seo has pitched 33.2 innings, going 3-0 with a 1.33 ERA. He has struck out 36 and walked just eight.
The Tides (29-22) jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the fifth, as Chris Basak scored on an RBI single by Jeff Keppinger. Norfolk added a second run in the sixth inning on an RBI single by Brian Daubach, and scored an unearned run in the bottom of the eighth inning to make it 3-0.
Juan Padilla collected the final four outs for his third save of the year.
The Tides travel to Pawtucket for a four-game set beginning Monday night at 6:05. they return to Harbor Park for a six-game homestand starting Friday night against the Rochester Red Wings.
