Ex-Ram added to Eskimo roster; three others released

(Edmonton) The Edmonton Eskimo Football Club announced the signing of defensive backs Jacoby Shepherd and Marcus Winn today.

Shepherd was originally drafted in the 2nd round (62nd overall) of the 2000 NFL Draft by the St. Louis Rams. He appeared in 21 games over two seasons with the Rams before being traded to the Houston Texans prior to the 2002 NFL Expansion Draft. After being released by the Texans late in training camp, Shepherd was signed and released by four other teams including the Green Bay Packers, New York Jets, Detroit Lions and Oakland Raiders.

Winn signed as an undrafted free agent with the Baltimore Ravens in 2004 and was later released. He joined the BC Lions in July 2004 and was later released by the Lions. Winn attended Alabama State University and was considered as one of the South Western Athletic Conference's top defensive players as a senior in 2003 recording 89 defensive tackles.
