
Mammoth exit playoffs with loss at Arizona

GLENDALE, Ariz. - The Colorado Mammoth played an inspired game of lacrosse Friday night at the Glendale Arena, but fell short in the first round of the Champion's Cup Playoffs.
Craig Conn scored five goals to lead the Arizona Sting to a 16-13 victory, ending the Mammoth's season. Arizona advances to the West Division final against the Calgary Roughnecks next Saturday.
Brian Langtry led the Mammoth with five goals, including the tally that tied the game at 13 with less than five minutes remaining.
Colorado built a 7-3 lead in the first half but saw its advantage dwindle to two goals by halftime. The Sting opened the second half with a three-goal run to take a 9-8 lead.
