Tampa Bay Storm News Release

TAMPA, FL -- The Tampa Bay Storm re-signed backup quarterback Pat O'Hara and also added lineman Rasheid Simmons and wide receiver/defensive back Kenny Christian to their roster, head coach Tim Marcum announced.

O'Hara has been the Storm's backup quarterback for the previous two seasons. O'Hara's most memorable moment with the Storm came in ArenaBowl XVII when he came off the bench to throw a pair of touchdown passes and run for another score while leading Tampa Bay to a 43-29 victory over the Arizona Rattlers.

O'Hara (6-5, 210, USC) enters his 11th season in the AFL and has played in five ArenaBowls. He won a pair of championship rings with the Orlando Predators before earning one with the Storm in 2003. In 2004, O'Hara played in three games and started two, completing 63-of-112 passes for 671 yards with 11 touchdowns and two interceptions.

Simmons (6-6, 285, Maryland) played in four games for the Detroit Fury in 2003, collecting 3.5 tackles and a sack. He played three seasons in the NFL with the New York Giants and Carolina Panthers and was also allocated to NFL Europe.

Christian (6-1, 210, Eastern Michigan) was signed by the Storm after attending the team's tryout camp. He spent time with the NFL's Chicago Bears and Philadelphia Eagles after turning in a breakout campaign in NFL Europe in 2002. Christian caught 32 passes for 390 yards and four touchdowns for the Berlin Thunder, finishing eighth in the league in receptions and receiving yards.

The five-time World Champion Tampa Bay Storm kick off the 2005 season in January at the St. Pete Times Forum. The Storm are looking to extend their league-record streak of postseason appearances to 15 seasons. Tampa Bay has never failed to advance to the AFL playoffs.

Season tickets for the 2005 season are on sale now at the St. Pete Times Forum Box Office. Storm season tickets may also be purchased by calling (813) 301-6600 or online at www.tampabaystorm.com.
