Minnesota Lacrosse Announces 2005 Schedule

SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The Minnesota Lacrosse's 2005 National Lacrosse League (NLL) schedule was released today. Minnesota will make its NLL debut on Saturday, January 1 at Rochester. The club will play its first game at Xcel Energy Center on Friday, January 21 against Buffalo at 7:30 PM.

The 2005 schedule consists of 16 games - eight at Xcel Energy Center and eight road contests. The Minnesota Lacrosse home schedule features seven games played on Friday night and one Sunday afternoon contest (February 20 against Philadelphia at 2:00 PM). Friday night games will start at 7:30 PM.

Minnesota will play each member of the Eastern Division (Buffalo, Philadelphia, Rochester and Toronto) three times (at least once at home and once on the road) to account for twelve of their sixteen regular season games. The remaining four contests will be played against teams in the Western Division (Anaheim, Arizona, Calgary, Colorado, San Jose and Vancouver). The 2005 NLL All-Star Game will take place February 27 at the Pengrowth Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta.

The Minnesota Lacrosse team will build its roster via an Expansion Draft, the 2004 NLL Entry Draft and the signing of free agents. The Expansion Draft will be held on Tuesday, October 19 at 1:00 PM. The 2004 NLL Entry Draft will be held on Tuesday, October 26 at 7:00 PM. Both drafts will be conducted via telephone conference call.
