Gorillas regional radio network returns
April 29, 2004 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Amarillo Gorillas News Release
AMARILLO, TX â The success of a professional hockey team is the sum of all of its parts. The Amarillo Gorillas accomplishments have gone noticed not just locally, but regionally thanks to its media partners.
The Gorillas announced today that it has signed agreements with six regional radio stations for the 2004-2005 season. The agreements will mean that hockey fans right across the panhandle will be able to win tickets again on the stations and for some of them hear a weekly update on the hockey team.
Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations Denis J. Puska says KSLS-KYUU in Liberal KS; KGYN in Guymon, OK; KPAN in Hereford, TX; KGRO-KOMX in Pampa, TX will all carry the new and improved "Inside Gorillas Hockey " for the 2004-2005 season.
"The show has been changed from 60 minutes to an action-packed 30- minute program," said Puska, who will enter his four season in the Central Hockey League and third as voice of the Gorillas. "We feel this change will allow our fans to be tuned in more often and for a shorter duration."
All of the stations including KSCB-KLDG in Liberal, KS; and KEFH in Clarendon TX will be giving away tickets to their lucky listeners all season long and air Gorillas commercials.
"Our partnerships with our regional stations are a very important part of our marketing strategy because we not only just bring in fans from Amarillo but the other three states that surround the Texas Panhandle," said Puska. "We get fans coming in as far away as Northeastern and Southeastern New Mexico and Southeast Colorado. It is critical that we keep them informed as much as possible."
More agreements with other radio stations will be announced in the coming months, including details of the new "Inside Gorillas Hockey."
The Amarillo Gorillas are preparing for their third season in the Central Hockey League. Season Tickets and Corporate Packages are currently available and for further information and to inquire about pricing, fans can drop by the office located at 1934 Civic Circle or call 242-7825.
