February 20, 2004 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Maywood Laguneros News Release
LONG BEACH, CA â The Long Beach Jam of the American Basketball Association (ABA) have released former NBA star Dennis Rodman. Rodman has decided to move forward in his quest to return to the NBA. Rodman's agent, Darren Prince, informed the Long Beach Jam that Rodman is 100 percent ready for the NBA after grabbing 22 rebounds in two games with the Jam. He has continued his vigorous workout regiment of 4-5 hours per day in the gym and has begun to reap the rewards physically as Rodman feels he is in the best shape of his career.
"Dennis is in 100 percent perfect shape and will shock the world one more time with this return to the NBA," Prince said. "With the Jam season near conclusion, Dennis wanted to actively pursue his goal of returning to the NBA and expects to be signed by the end of February. Dennis fully enjoyed his experience with his teammates, Coach Earl Cureton and Jam President Steve Chase, and wishes them the best of luck."
"It was great having Dennis on our team," Chase said. "He offered invaluable guidance to our young players, supported our coaching staff, and helped put our franchise on the map."
The first-place Jam play the Jersey Squires Sunday at 2 p.m.
