Pulaski, VA - The Greeneville Astros (26-25) were defeated by the Appalachian League East division-leading Pulaski Yankees (31-21), 8-1, on Saturday night to close out their three-game series.

Pulaski took the initial lead in the bottom of the second inning. With two runners on and two outs, Jesus Aparicio homered to put the Yankees on top, 3-0.

The Astros had a chance to strike first earlier in the inning, but stranded Kyle Tucker at third. With one out, Tucker got on with a single, stole his fourth base for Greeneville to get to second, and advanced to third on a wild pitch before the inning concluded. However, Greeneville bounced back in the third inning with an Osvaldo Duarte solo homer, his fourth of the year.

In the bottom of the third inning, the Yankees got a leadoff triple from Hoy Jun Park. He then came home to score a run on an Austin Afenir sacrifice fly and increase the Yankees lead to 4-1.

Dylan James came on in relief of Astros' starter Yhoan Acosta in the fourth inning. Over his two innings of work, he held the Yankees scoreless on two hits with two strikeouts. However, the Yankees went on to add insurance runs over the sixth, seventh and eighth innings.

The two Yankees' runs over the sixth and seventh innings were aided by Astros' errors in the field. Meanwhile, two more runs in the eighth came on an Aparicio RBI single and a Carlos Vidal RBI double to conclude the scoring.

Pulaski's 6'8" right-hander David Palladino, after surrendering the homerun to Duarte, held the Astros without a baserunner over his final four innings in the game. He finished the night giving up one run on two hits over seven innings and was awarded the win.

The Astros return home to Pioneer Park on Sunday to begin a three-game series with the Johnson City Cardinals (22-27). First pitch is scheduled for 6:00pm. The Astros are the Appalachian League affiliate of the Houston Astros. For more information, visit www.greenevilleastros.com or call (423) 638-0411.
