Evening Sessions Open To Public The footballs start flying for the Memphis Xplorers on Monday March 18th during the team's first day of training camp for the 2002 arenafootball2 season.
Head coach Danton Barto has promised a wide open passing offensive team. Last week's announcement of Russell Copeland and Deumaine Reeder joining the Xplorers, has given Memphis a couple of high powered weapons in its aresenal. Fans can get their first look at that offense starting Monday.
Players will report for physicals and initial team meetings on Saturday. On Monday, public workouts begin at 7 p.m. at Southaven High School. Evening sessions continue through Friday night March 22nd, each night from 7-9 p.m. On Saturday, there will be a practice session from 10 a.m. to noon, and another session from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. On Sunday March 24th, the Xplorers will practice from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. All of the Xplorer practice sessions at Southaven High School are free and open to the public.
The regular season begins April 6th at Louisville. The Xplorers begin their home season Saturday April 20th against the Bossier City Battle Wings at 7:30 p.m. at the DeSoto Civic Center.
Fans can get in on the action of all eight Xplorers' games at the DeSoto Civic Center, for as little as $63, which includes free parking and other benefits.
