
Xplorers Make First Training Camp Cuts

SOUTHAVEN, Miss â The Memphis Xplorers made the first round of cuts during their 2003 training camp. The cuts came quickly after just three full contact practices and allowed the team to lower the roster to 30. The Xplorers 2003 season opener is April 5th in Columbus, while the home opener is April 12th against the Bakersfield Blitz. "We are very pleased with how things have gone so far," Xplorers head coach Danton Barto said. "We have some guys in camp who I think are going to do quite well in af2 and we have a lot of them. It is a nice problem to have, to be able to open up every position for competition. I wish nothing but the best to the players we reassigned."
The Xplorers will hold two practices on Saturday and Sunday at 9:45 a.m. and 1:45 p.m.
Next week practices revert to 8:15 p.m. Monday thru Friday.
The Xplorers will cut again on March 31st, down to 21 players.
PRACTICE LOCATION CHANGE The Xplorers have shifted all practices to Southaven High School until further notice.
