Memphis Xplorers News Release


Amarillo, TX --- The Memphis Xplorers of af2 have been assigned QB Daniel Forrest by the league office. Forrest replaces the recently traded Stan Hill as the backup to starter Brian Jones. Hill was traded to the Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings earlier this week.

Forrest was invited to and recently attended the Cleveland Browns Rookie Camp. He completed his college career last fall at NAIA William Jewell College in Liberty, MO. As a senior, the 6-foot-2, 218 pound native of Houston, TX was 157 for 287 passing for 2228 yards and 20 TD. Prior to transferring to William Jewell, Forrest played at Division I-AA Sam Houston State in 2003 and before that at Trinity Valley Community College in Athens, TX.

Forrest will be in uniform when the Xplorers open up the second half of their season tomorrow (Sunday) at Amarillo. The Xplorers and Dusters will kickoff at 3 p.m.
