X-Treme Battle Of The Bands Starts March 23

SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The National Lacrosse League's (NLL) Minnesota Swarm, in conjunction with Silver Ant Studios and Discburn, announced today that they are sponsoring the X-Treme Battle of the Bands beginning March 23. The winner of the contest will get the opportunity to perform at the Swarm's April 15 game against the Portland LumberJax at Xcel Energy Center.

The first round battles will be held Thursday, March 23 at the following Twin Cities establishments: The Lodge, Hexagon Bar, Suburban World Theatre, Bar Abilene and Tom Reid's Hockey City Pub. Each band will be given 30 minutes to showcase their talents. The winner will be determined by Minnesota Swarm players and based on crowd response. The winners at each location will advance to the finals at O'Gara's Garage on Wednesday, March 29.

All X-Treme Battle of the Bands promotional tickets sold by the bands to the Minnesota Swarm vs. Buffalo Bandits game on Friday, March 24 will include a voucher waiving the $5 cover charge for round one of the X-Treme Battle of the Bands.

The winner of the X-Treme Battle of the Bands will receive: * The opportunity to perform at the Xcel Energy Center on the FSN North stage at the April 15th Swarm game. * Thirty hours of recording time at Silver Ant Studios in Minneapolis. * 1000 copies of the band's newly recorded CD, compliments of DiscBurn. * The band's song will be played on 93X's Loud-N-Local with Patrick. * $1000 cash prize. * 100 complimentary Swarm tickets to give to their fans for the April 15th Swarm game
