Rock prepares to host Hall of Fame and All-Star Weekend

TORONTO-The Toronto Rock Lacrosse Club is busy preparing for an action-packed weekend when the club will host both the inaugural Hall of Fame Game and the National Lacrosse League All-Star Game, Feb. 24-25.

The Rock is also organizing the NLL Skills Competition (at the half of the Hall of Fame Game on Feb. 24) and a Skills With the Stars player development camp (Feb. 25, 9-10:30 a.m.) on the weekend.

Hall of Fame Game

The inaugural NLL Hall of Fame Game will feature the visiting Philadelphia Wings and your Toronto Rock. The game begins at 7:30 p.m. but get there early to be in your seat as the NLL inducts its first hall-of-fame class featuring:

Russ Cline and Chris Fritz (Philadelphia Wings); Paul and Gary Gait; and the late, great Les Bartley, who led the Rock to four championships between 1999-2003.

NLL Skills Competition

The Rock will host the NLL Skills Competition at the half of the Feb. 24 Hall of Fame Game. Participants from 9 NLL teams (excluding the playing teams of Philadelphia and Toronto) will compete for cash prizes in a goal scoring, hardest shot and breakaway categories. Check back next week for a full list of participants.

Skills with the Stars

If you're 16 or younger and want to learn from the pros, you can register for our Skills with Stars Camp. For details see the "Other News" scoring.

NLL All-Star Game

On Saturday Feb. 25 at 4 p.m. the Rock will host the National Lacrosse League All-Star Game. It's the first time the event has been hosted in Toronto. The Eastern Division won last year's game 11-10 in overtime over the West with John Tavares of Buffalo, a native of Mississauga, scoring the OT winner.
