Wyoming Cavalry have busy week planned
April 6, 2004 - National Indoor Football League (NIFL)
Wyoming Cavalry News Release
Casper, WY - The Wyoming Cavalry have one focus this week - to fix whatever happened on Saturday against the Sioux Falls Storm before they meet the Utah Warriors, the defending 2003 Pacific Conference Champions, on April 9 on their home turf. The crowd is expected to be large and loud to welcome "the boys" home after two away games.
The first game of the Cavs' season will be televised statewide, thanks to KTWO TV and their sponsors. This will surely add excitement and energy to the "best fans in the league."
The week kicked off Monday with ticket give-a-ways on the KTWO AM 1030 morning show with Brian Scott. Coach Stein stopped by to recap the weekend loss to Sioux Falls. "We made some changes to our line-up from last week - still trying to find our rhythm," says Stein. "We just weren't as prepared as we should have been, and I take partial blame for that. We had to pick up he turf from the 'Blair Witch' and wanted to get some practice outside, but the wind was too bad. But, this week we will be in the Events Center all week practicing."
Ticket give-a-ways will continue throughout the week.
On Wednesday, April 7, the Cavalry will visit Manor Heights, Cresthill, Verde James, and Pineview Elementary Schools and give the students a pep talk on sportsmanship. Each student will be given a ticket to Saturday night's game.
Then, on Thursday, eat lunch with the Cavalry players, beginning at 11:30 am at Fajita Cantina in downtown Casper.
Thursday night, come by the Casper Events Center and watch the Cavalry practice. Doors will open at 5:15 pm. Admission is $5 per person. Practice will last until around 7 pm, at which time Coach Stein will run the FIRST WYOMING CAVALRY FASTEST MAN CONTEST. Wyoming Cavalry players will compete for the title of Fastest Man. A portion of the evening's gate receipts will be awarded to the winner. Come out and cheer on your favorite player.
The week will culminate with the April 9 home opener. Kickoff is 7:05 pm. Season and single-game tickets are available by contacting the Casper Events Center at 307.577.3030 or 800.442.2256. For more information and news, visit the Wyoming Cavalry web site at www.wyomingcavalry.com.
