Wranglers sign QB Chris Redman
AUSTIN-The Austin Wranglers announced the signing of former Louisville Cardinal standout quarterback Chris Redman for the 2007 season. With the addition of Redman, the Wranglers have a total of five quarterbacks under contract.
Redman (6-3, 225, Louisville), was selected in the third round (75th overall) of the 2000 NFL Draft by the Baltimore Ravens. Over the course of four seasons, he saw action in 10 games with the Ravens and completed 106-of-198 passes for 1,111 yards and seven touchdowns with a 53.5 completion percentage.
During his collegiate career at the University of Louisville (1996-99), he threw for 12,541 yards, which ranks third most ever for a Division 1-A quarterback. He was the first Cardinal quarterback to lead his team to back-to-back bowl appearances. As a senior, Redman was a first-team All-Conference USA selection and was named the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm award winner.
