Wranglers sign four-year NFL vet Chiaverini

The Austin Wranglers have signed four-year NFL veteran Darrin Chiaverini to their 24-man roster as a wide receiver/line backer. Chiaverini was originally signed by the Colorado Crush as a free agent in December of 2003.

NFL CAREER: Played for Cleveland Browns, 1999 and 2000 seasons. Played all 16 games in his rookie season, 1999, catching 44 passes for 487 yards and four touchdowns. Played for Dallas Cowboys in 2001, playing in all 16 games and catching 10 passes for 107 yards and two touchdowns. Played seven games for Atlanta Falcons in 2002.

COLLEGE CAREER: Ranks 12th on all-time receiving list at University of Colorado, where he played 42 games over four seasons, 1995-98. Second-team all-Big 12 after senior season in which he caught 52 passes for 630 yards and five TDs. Honorable mention all-Big 12 after junior season, when he caught 35 passes for 461 yards. Won inaugural "Buffalo Heart" award, voted on by CU fans, in 1998.
