Austin Wranglers News Release

AUSTIN-The Austin Wranglers are proud to announce the donation of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to the Hutto Intermediate School District, for use at the district's athletic events. Wranglers General Manager Glyn Milburn along with the team's mascot, "Trigger," will make the presentation tonight at the "Highway 79 Showdown" at Hippo Stadium when Hutto hosts the Taylor Ducks at 7:30 p.m.

"We are pleased that the Austin Wranglers are able to donate a defibrillator device, as they have proved to be so crucial in saving lives in Austin during the recent months," said Milburn. "The betterment of the Central Texas region is extremely important to the Wranglers and participating in such a worthy cause continues to reinforce the team's mission."

Seton Medical Center - Williamson and Austin Regional Clinic approached the Wranglers to join them in donating a defibrillator. Also donating are Catalyst Consulting, First State Bank, Humana, Independence Title Company, Rose Electric, Texas Disposal Systems and Trim Tech of Austin. Medtronic supplied nine units in total (eight to Hutto ISD and one to Taylor ISD) at a discounted cost to assist in making this donation possible.

Automated External Defibrillator - An AED is a portable device that can be used by trained laypersons to deliver an electric shock to the heart of someone experiencing Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA.) AEDs are portable, easy to use, and the key to increasing the survival rate of SCA victims. Having an AED within minutes of a victim of SCA could be the difference between life and death.
