SAN JOSE, Calif. - The SaberCats announced today that they have been assigned former New Orleans Saints wide receiver Rod Harper. The team also announced that wide receiver Jamarko Simmons has been traded to Iowa.

"We are thrilled to add a player of this experience level," Head Coach/Owner Darren Arbet said. "He has good speed and knows how to find the end zone, and we are excited about adding his talents to our receiving corps."

Harper (6-1, 205 lbs, Murray State) last played for the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League. In his year of AFL experience, Harper spent the 2012 season with the Spokane Shock.
