
WPS Radio Show Set to Launch Saturday

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - "Flash Through the WPS," a weekly radio show covering Women's Professional Soccer with a focus on the league-leading Western New York Flash, will launch on Saturday, June 11 at noon in Rochester , N.Y. Head Coach of the WNY Flash, Aaran Lines, will be a guest on the inaugural show on Saturday.
The one-hour show can be heard live anywhere in the world on the Internet at www.whtk.com or in the Rochester area on WHTK (FM 107.3/AM 1280) and will be hosted by a veteran crew, including Rochester Democrat and Chronicle soccer writer Jeff DiVeronica, news director James Weise and soccer personality, "Soccer Sam" Fantauzzo. The crew has hosted another soccer show, Kick This!, since 1997 on WTHK. Each show also will be available on iTunes so it can be downloaded as a podcast at www.kickthis.com. The show airs Saturdays at noon through the WPS Championship Game on Aug. 27th.
Including interviews with WPS players and coaches, as well as league executives, a "Flash Through the WPS" will feature news and views from around the league's six cities and a weekly trivia contest for fans to win tickets to upcoming Flash matches in Rochester . Also, special to this summer will be Women's World Cup coverage taking place in Germany, which begins on Sunday, June 26th.
"We've been so impressed with the quality of play and charismatic personalities in WPS this season that we're extremely excited to give the world's best league another venue to help attract fans," Fantauzzo said. "I hope fans from teams around the league will tune us in and be part of the show!"
