Boston Blizzard News Release
Boston, MA. The ABA Boston United professional basketball team is announcing an internship program for colleges for their upcoming Inaugural ABA season. Boston United is looking for young dynamic interns that want to get experience in Sales, Marketing and Public Relations, Basketball Operations and Communications.
"As part of our community outreach initiative, it is very important to us that we share our experience with talented local students. Teams will be created and assignments and responsibilities will be handed out to resemble real life work experiences," stated Boston United president Carmelo Travieso. "This program is created to have the students feel like they are part of our organization. We feel that having young talented students from our community working alongside of us further unites us with our local communities."
Workgroups will be created to cover all the different aspects of running a professional sports organization. Teams will be given goals and deadlines as they work throughout the year as ambassadors of the Boston United and the ABA.
The Team will be given specific tasks such as developing and implementing sales strategies, marketing plans, public relations, scheduling and planning basketball events such as weekend tournaments, basketball clinics, as well as developing the game day operations. We look forward to the upcoming season. We understand the concept of "teamwork" and can't wait to have you join your Boston United team.
Persons interested in volunteering for the team throughout the year or for the Boston United this summer are encouraged to visit www.bostonunitedbasketball.net or email GM Eggie Mcrae at bostonunitedbasketball@gmail.com or visit www.abalive.com.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams. For information on professional minor leagues, please see OSC's basketball section.
