
Worcester Sharks Resign Forward Jimmy Bonneau

WORCESTER - Worcester Sharks General Manager Wayne Thomas has announced the resigning of forward Jimmy Bonneau to an AHL contract for the 2012-13 season. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Bonneau, 27, set a Worcester Sharks franchise record last season with 22 fighting majors (3rd in AHL), was tied for the team lead in penalty minutes (168), and added five points in 54 games. An alternate captain with the Sharks last season, Jimmy has appeared in 249 career AHL games with Hamilton, Portland, Rochester, and Worcester accumulating 21 points (8-13-21), 721 penalty minutes, and 92 fighting majors.
The 6-foot-3 220lb forward from Baie-Comeau, Quebec has also appeared in 129 ECHL games with Long Beach and Cincinnati accumulating 17 points (3-14-17), 287 penalty minutes, and 41 fighting majors.
Jimmy was originally drafted by the Montreal Canadiens with the 241st pick in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. Before turning pro, he played with Montreal and Prince Edward Island in the QMJHL.
Bonneau joins All-USHL First Team forward Daniil Tarasov and QMJHL MVP Yanni Gourde as players signed to an AHL contract for the Worcester Sharks for the 2012-13 season.
