
Worcester Sharks Jerseys to be Auctioned off on SharksAHL.com

WORCESTER - Worcester Sharks President Michael A. Mudd announced that the Worcester Sharks will auction off select home and away game worn jerseys from the 2011-12 season during an online auction through eBay and www.SharksAHL.com beginning on Sunday, June 3 at 8p.m. (EST). This will be the second of two eBay jersey auctions this offseason on SharksAHL.com.
The Sharks sported the game worn home and away jerseys throughout the 6th season and consist some of the most prolific players ever to suit up for the Worcester Sharks; including John McCarthy, Mike Moore, Tommy Wingels, and Jimmy Bonneau.
The online auction will begin on Sunday, June 3 at 8p.m. (EST) and conclude on Sunday, June 10 at 8p.m. (EST) and will consist of the following jerseys;
#1 Antero Nittymaki
Game worn Worcester Sharks road black jersey from goaltender Antero Nittymaki. Antero posted a 2-3-0 record in Worcester his season during two separate conditioning stints from San Jose. Posted a 12-7-3 record with San Jose in 2010-11. The native of Turku, Finland has an NHL record of 95-86-31 with a 2.95 goals-against average, .902 save percentage, and five shutouts.
#7 John McCarthy
Game worn Worcester Sharks road black jersey from forward and team MVP John McCarthy. The Worcester Sharks alternate captain led the Sharks in points (47) and goals (20) and also suited up in 10 games with the San Jose Sharks. Co-captain of the 2009 nation champion Boston University Terriers.
# 8 Mike Moore
Game worn Worcester Sharks road black jersey from team captain Mike Moore. Mike is the Worcester Sharks all-time leader in games played (253) and 4th in penalty minutes (365). Recorded 20 points (4-16-20) and seven fighting majors in 6 games in Worcester this season. The Princeton University alum has also dressed in six games with the San Jose Sharks in his career.
#17 Tommy Wingels
Game worn Worcester Sharks road black jersey from forward Tommy Wingels. Recorded 21 points (13-8-21) and a team high four game winning goals in just 29 games in Worcester this season before his recall to San Jose. Played in 33 games with the San Jose Sharks (3-6-9) and added an assist in five playoff games. Was the Reebok/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending Dec. 18, 2011.
#21 Benn Ferriero
Game worn Worcester Sharks home white jersey from Worcester Sharks / San Jose Sharks forward Benn Ferriero. Spent most of the season with the San Jose Sharks. Won the National Championship with BC in 2008. Had 20 points (9-11-20) in 20 games with Worcester before his NHL recall.
#22 Tim Kennedy
Game worn Worcester Sharks road black jersey from forward Tim Kennedy. Tim recorded 31 points (10-21-31) in 39 games after he came over in a trade from the Florida Panther organization. The Buffalo, NY native has played in 112 career NHL games with Buffalo and Florida and won a national championship with Michigan State in 2007.
#27 Justin Braun
Game worn Worcester Sharks home white jersey from Worcester Sharks / San Jose Sharks defenseman Justin Braun. Spent most of the season with the San Jose Sharks and played in all five playoff games. A product of UMass-Amherst. Represented Worcester at the 2011 AHL All-Star Classic. Drafted by San Jose in the 7th round in 2007 (201st overall).
#29 Nick Petrecki
Game worn Worcester Sharks road black jersey of defenseman Nick Petrecki. Nick was the winner of the Yanick Dupré Memorial Award as the 2011-12 IOA/American Specialty AHL Man of the Year for his work within the central Massachusetts community. A first round draft selection by the San Jose Sharks in 2007 and a nation champion with the BC Eagles in 2009, Petrecki ranks 9th all-time in Worcester Sharks history with 200 games played.
#31 Tyson Sexsmith
Game worn Worcester Sharks road black jersey from Worcester Sharks goaltender and 2011 AHL All-Star Tyson Sexsmith. Finished 12th in the AHL with a 2.33 GAA. Won the Memorial Cup with the Vancouver Giants in 2007. Originally drafted by San Jose in the 3rd round of the 2007 NHL Draft.
#43 Jimmy Bonneau
Game worn Worcester Sharks road black jersey of forward Jimmy Bonneau. Jimmy set a Worcester Sharks record with 22 fighting majors in 2011-12 and was tied for the team lead in penalty minutes with 168. A draft pick of the Montreal Canadiens in 2003, Bonneau has 92 fighting majors in the AHL in 249 games.
