The NY Sharks have been a fixture in women's professional tackle football for the past four years and are one of the longest-running franchises. This year, the team - undefeated in 2002 and continuing their winning streak in 2003 is poised for another championship title. Many of last year's stars have returned, including quarterback Val Halesworth and middle linebacker Missy Marmorale - MVP of the 2002 National Championship game. Nick Giannatasio has also returned as Head Coach.

"The only thing that could top winning the title last year in Oregon would be repeating it in 2003 - in front of a hometown crowd at St. John's," says Sharks owner Andra Douglas. "Our players and our fans deserve that!"
