SoCal Scorpions News Release
San Diego â Just when you thought San Diego would be left without a women's professional sports team or a possible winning football team, that all is about to change.
San Diego's very own women's professional football team, the So Cal Scorpions, kick off their season this Saturday at Edwards Stadium next to La Jolla High School at 7 PM against the Arizona Caliente.
The Scorpions, a member of the Women's Professional Football League; the longest operating women's professional sports league in the nation, gear up to show fans this is very far from powder puff.
"This is full contact, NFL style football, played by professional football players that happen to be women". stated co-owner, Ann Bagala. "The night will be very entertaining" added Bagala.
On top of the game, the Scorpions will have a Half Time performance by the San Diego Gulls Girls, the National Anthem will be performed by Lois Myers of the San Diego Opera Chorus, and CS Keys will be announcing the game.
