San Diego, CA - It was something historic, and something long worked for. San Diego's women's professional football team, the So Cal Scorpions, shut out the La Amazons 35-0 on Saturday night to secure their playoff spot and win the Western Division Champion title for the first time in franchise history. Last season, the Scorpions finished 1-9 in the nation wide Women's Professional Football League.
"The veteran players worked very hard in the off season, and clicked with the new rookies." Stated team owner, Ann Bagala. "This team is very talented, but they take nothing they have done this far for granted" Added Bagala.
The team will travel to LA next week to finish out the regular season. The first round of Play-Off's is set for October 29th.
"We will find out after next week's games if the Play-Off game will be here in San Diego, I am encouraging fans to watch for info on our website" Stated team Assistant GM, Leticia Bernadino.
Should the Scorpions make it to the Championship; the game will be held here in San Diego.
